Procurement Manager – Fixed term (12 months)

Salary –  up to  £53,904

The Education and Care Services Department of Bromley Council is seeking to recruit a dynamic and committed individual to lead the officers responsible for the procurement process. You will also lead on complex procurement exercises.

This is a full time post working 36 hours per week.

You will join a team of commissioning and contracting staff and work alongside other commissioners within the Council and Bromley Primary Care Trust. You must have a commitment to the provision of high quality services for users and carers and to building partnerships with providers from both the voluntary, community and independent sectors.

You will need to demonstrate experience and achievement in the procurement and management of client focused, high quality, cost effective services, preferably in Social Services, Health or a related field. You will have experience in the use of programme and project management techniques, together with experience in the collection and use of performance data.

You will be aware of new developments in the delivery of Social Care and will be prepared to work flexibly with Commissioners to ensure that procurement underpins innovative approaches developed.

You will also demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret Financial Regulations for Commissioners and officers to ensure that the Department’s contracts are fully compliant in all aspects.

You may be MCIPs qualified or part qualified, or be educated to degree standard in a complementary area of activity. A willingness to seek and participate in further professional and work related training is an expectation for those being considered for appointment.
