More than 20 law firms across England have been recently appointed to a legal services framework that has been designed to provide best value and greater consistency of service provision for NHS organisations.

NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS), market leader in business support services for the NHS, has increased through competition the number of law firms represented on its framework from 16 to 22. The new agreement also sees nine law firms appointed to the framework for the first time.

NHS SBS has designed the framework with its NHS clients to provide a broad spectrum of requirements, while achieving greater consistency in the provision of a service.

The full list of law firms on the framework is:

NHS SBS director of procurement Peter Akid said: “We’re delighted to have finalised the framework that will enable our clients to benefit from the economies of scale we can harness through our procurement process. The framework helps our clients achieve best value in legal services provision while retaining access to the highest level of expertise available. Importantly, the framework will also achieve greater consistency in terms of cost as well as the scope and specification of the service provision.”

The framework has been in operation from December 1 2013, continuing until November 30 2015 and is divided into ten lots or categories* across ten regions.
