According to media reports, developer City & Provincial Properties has received planning permission for a residential-led mixed-use scheme in London.

Architects Hawkins\Brown submitted a detailed planning application for nearly 1000 homes and over 100,000 sq ft of retail, workshops and leisure space at the site in Lewisham. Part of the Wharves development plan involves re-excavating an old canal route at the site and building an 18-storey residential tower.

Lewisham Council has granted outline planning permission for the whole site, as well as detailed consent for the first two phases of the project. Work on the project is expected to start towards the end of 2012 with contractors invited to tender in around six months time.
