1)  Why did you decide to put yourselves forward for the GO Awards Scotland this year?

We’re proud of the extra mile that our dedicated and hard working small team of employees go to not just satisfy, but impress our clients. It’s this great service, which was recognised by us winning the 2010 Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Northern Star Awards Excellence in Customer Service Award, and has positioned us a leading provider of IT services and gained us an enviable reputation locally.

Despite the tough economic climate, Indigo has achieved sustained growth, high levels of client retention and client referrals. As we’ve grown, so too has the area in which we operate with us servicing Scottish based clients with offices across the globe.

Winning this award would give the team the recognition they deserve for the fantastic work they do on a daily basis. It would also restore faith in small IT firms, something which many companies have lost, and prove that small independent companies can compete with their larger cash rich counterparts.

2)  What do you think sets you apart from the other nominees in your category/categories?

The company’s success and growth is directly attributable to customer service and future growth will continue to be reliant upon this.

Indigo is a small firm of only ten employees, operating in a highly competitive market. The past couple of years have seen this increase with a number of newcomers entering this fierce sector. Locally the IT sector doesn’t have a great reputation, but Indigos strives to change this.

It’s a key goal of Indigo’s to maintain and raise awareness of its reputation of providing exceptional customer service to allow it expand its geographically areas of operation.

3)  What would be the biggest benefit to your organisation from winning a GO Award?

Indigo is expanding into wider geographical markets.  While its excellence and dedication to its clients is well known locally, winning this prestigious award would help us to extend that recognition to the wider Scottish business community.

Historically, Indigo’s client base has been solely SMEs. To sustain growth, it has had to complete for business from larger organisations. As we continue to target this sector, winning a GO award will help us to prove our credibility – something which these organisations demand. It’ll also help to set us apart in a saturated market.

4)  What would you say has been your biggest challenge in the past year and how have you overcome it?

The firm operates in an industry where competition is fierce and unfortunately the industry does not have a great reputation locally due to the quality of services provided and bad advice given by some IT companies. Indigo has invested a lot of time and money in gaining an enviable reputation for customer service and it is committed to maintaining this and building upon it.

5) What’s next for your organisation?

The firm will continue to invest in growing its team of engineers, training its employees, and purchase state-of-the-art equipment. This will help to ensure the team can continue to be consistent in the providing great customer service allowing the company to expand into new geographical markets, and increase the number of larger organisations in its client base.
