1)    Why did you decide to put yourselves forward for the GO Awards Scotland this year?

Given the innovative nature of procurement in Scotland, Health Facilities Scotland thought it would be worthwhile raising the profile of Frameworks Scotland due to it’s innovative collaborative partnership construction procurement arrangement between NHS Scotland and the private sector.

2)    What do you think sets you apart from the other nominees in your category/categories?

Health Facilities Scotland working together with NHS Boards and the private sector to deliver capital funded health construction projects over £1 million. It is based on procurement using the NEC collaborative form of contract. Currently 52 projects valued at over £448 million are being delivered by five delivery partners.

3)    What would be the biggest benefit to your organisation from winning a GO Award?

The GO Awards are seen as a prestigious review by highly acclaimed peer groups. Winning would help to draw promotion of Frameworks Scotland’s successes to date as an innovative procurement arrangement within the Health Sector and within the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorate.

4)    What would you say has been your biggest challenge in the past year and how have you overcome it?

The biggest challenge has been to continue to maintain effective project delivery in the current challenging economic climate. Challenges have been overcome by liaising closely and effectively with the Health Boards and the five delivery partners.

5)    What’s next for your organisation?

With Frameworks Scotland due to come to an end next year, Health Facilities Scotland are currently in the process of building on the successes of the original Frameworks through further development of the initiative.  At present Health Facilities Scotland are procuring Frameworks Scotland II, which will  be launched when the original comes to an end and which will build upon the successes of Frameworks Scotland in delivering economic, innovative and successful health related projects to the benefit of the Scottish community.
