GO shared services get the go ahead

Friday August 12th, 2011

Local authorities serving Cheltenham, the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean and West Oxfordshire, together with Cheltenham Borough Homes Ltd  have all given the go-ahead for the GO shared services programme.

This means that all five organisations will share the delivery of a range of services including: finance; procurement; human resources and payroll.

They will all be using a common IT system (i.e. Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP).

It is estimated that the total annual savings will be over £650,000 per annum.  The Forest of Dean and West Oxfordshire Councils will be going live in late 2011 and the others will follow suit in the Spring of 2012.
