Wednesday October 16th, 2019

A new Parent and Afterschool Centre has been opened today in Kilcooley Primary School and Nursery Unit, Bangor.Education Concept

The facilities were funded by a £282,000 Department for Communities (DfC) investment through its Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Fund with the project being delivered by the Education Authority.
This much needed facility includes space for interaction with parents and their children, as well as providing space for delivering dedicated programmes.

The new facility has provided a platform to allow parents the opportunity to meet in a non-intimidating environment with other parents, key members of staff and other professionals who can support parents to help them overcome challenges in their lives that may prevent them engaging in education themselves or supporting their
children in education.
It also allows for the delivery of various parenting courses and afterschool provision to complement the extended schools programme.
