The Guardian has reported that cardiology staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital now have iPads and iMacs as part of an ‘Apple architecture project’ being deployed at the trust.

Around 350 Apple devices have been introduced at the hospital and cardiology staff will be able to use them to instantly access 3D images of patients’ hearts in preparation for surgery.

Mark Large, IT Director at Great Ormond Street Hospital, said the technology allows hospital staff to join conference calls and access instant information remotely as well as being able to view images of the heart from every angle to help plan their surgery approach.
