Procurex South Live 2015: Overview

On 10 March 2015 the London Olympia Conference Centre will open its doors to the hundreds of public and private sector delegates attending this year’s Procurex South Live. Government Opportunities

The highly anticipated event will provide buyers and suppliers from both sectors with a unique platform to enhance their understanding and knowledge of the latest developments, initiatives and changes in legislation currently affecting the ever-changing marketplace.

Procurex South Live is dedicated to supporting the delivery of public services by providing public sector buyers and suppliers with training, networking and collaboration opportunities. The event will give those attending the chance to engage with local framework suppliers, non-framework suppliers and leading experts from their region to enhance their knowledge of procurement and explore opportunities for collaboration with the public procurement community.

Procurex South Live will offer visitors from the public and private sector the opportunity to understand the challenges facing procurement, hear from the leading experts in the field and learn how to apply new skills within their role.

There are several different reasons to visit Procurex South Live 2015, whether it is to attend the Keynote Arena or network with exhibitors. The event will showcase a range of innovative exhibitors, all of whom will be there to meet public sector buyers, framework suppliers, non-framework suppliers and speculative suppliers. The Procurex Live events are integral to facilitating the delivery of the UK Government’s procurement strategy by providing public sector buyers with a single point of access to existing and aspiring framework and non-framework suppliers.

The Procurex Live events have the full support of the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), who will have their own Procurement Pavilion on the day where delegates will have the chance to explore the opportunities and benefits of working with them. Representatives from leading procurement consortia will also be attending the event so that delegates can discuss the possibilities and advantages of collaborative working within the buyer and supplier communities.

Procurex South Live will be hosting specially tailored Buyer and Supplier Training Zones, which will deliver free CPD certified procurement-related training sessions. There will be two training zones, in each of which sessions will be presented by a PASS consultant with a vast knowledge of public procurement and the policies and processes that go with it. The sessions will also focus on legislation and best practise. The Buyer Training Zone will be presented by Eddie Regan, the Principal Procurement Consultant at PASS, while the Supplier Training Zone will be taken by PAWA Consulting Ltd’s Managing Director, Paul Wright. PASS Consultants are experts in their field and help buyers and suppliers alike to tender effectively as well as educating them with overall knowledge of the process.

Procurex South Live boasts a fantastic Keynote Arena with speeches scheduled from a range of marketplace experts. In the Keynote Arena, policy makers and leaders will discuss the latest issues in procurement. The most up-to-date policy changes and legalities which impact on the roles of purchasing and commissioning within the public sector will be the subject of much discussion. Among the themes of the day will be the need for procurement to become more ‘commercial minded’ and its role in delivering economic benefits. Those attending will hear from speakers such as Bill Crothers, Government Chief Commercial Officer for the Cabinet Office, PricewaterhouseCoopers Senior Consultant Henry Needler and Commercial Director at Network Rail, Jim Carter.
