Monday December 16th, 2013

The National Government Opportunities (GO) annual Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2014/15 are open to public, third and private sector organisations and are the benchmark by which progress in commissioning, procurement and public service delivery has been measured. The Awards showcase the very best that public sector procurement has to offer as a career, as a market sector and, most importantly, as a means of delivering more efficient and effective public services.

Winners – Best Customer Engagement Initiative of the Year Award 2013/14
“Firstly we’re going to send a text to everyone we know! It’s really great recognition for when you do something and include the users of the service in the way you design the procurement. We’ll be using this as a case study for our council and our partners to say ‘this is what can be done.”
Andrew Williams, Head of Procurement for Cheshire West and Chester Council

Winner – GO Sustainability Best Supplier Engagement Initiative of the Year Award 2013/14
“It’s just a very rewarding feeling, particularly with tonight’s Awards and being recognised for that effort. We’ll take this success back to the team. It’s not just us, it’s everyone who sits behind us. That’s really who has delivered this for us.”
John Ballantyne, Brookfield Multiplex Construction
