GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards
The Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards recognise and reward excellence and achievement in this multibillion-pound sector, and for the past nine years have been the benchmark by which progress in commissioning, procurement and public service delivery has been measured.
Public spending is set to continue as one of the highest profile topics in the minds of politicians, the business community and the public, and as a result public procurement will also receive unprecedented levels of focus and challenge in 2011/12 and beyond. The GO Awards provide the perfect showcase for the most exciting initiatives and innovations, as well as the inspirational people driving progress and change.
The GO Awards showcase the very best that public sector procurement has to offer – as a career, as a market sector and, most importantly, as a means of delivering more efficient and effective public services.
Entering the GO Awards costs nothing, but winning – or even becoming a finalist – has tremendous value. That value extends far beyond the moment when one of the unique GO Awards trophies is presented to a successful entrant in front of hundreds of the UK’s leading procurement practitioners at a special ceremony. Gaining recognition as a GO Awards winner provides a lasting positive impression for your organisation – whether buyer or supplier – and on the individuals and teams who work for it. In these challenging times, such kudos goes a long way.
Receiving a GO Award is the ultimate accolade within the public procurement arena. So if you have a story of outstanding success and achievement to tell, make sure you share it.
Two GO Awards schemes exist – the National GO Awards and the GO Awards Scotland.
The National GO Awards are open to all public, private and third sector organisations across the UK, whereas the GO Awards Scotland are for organisations based within Scotland, or providing services to the Scottish public sector.
