The Winners and Highly Commended entrants for the inaugural Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Wales 2016/17 were announced at a sold-out black-tie ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff tonight, Thursday 6 October 2016.

Hosted by BBC Wales presenter Roy Noble, the Awards were a glittering finale to Wales’ Day of Procurement, which kicked off earlier in the day at Procurex Wales Live 2016 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.

All this year’s entries were reviewed by a panel of nine judges comprising experts in UK procurement and commissioning, including Sue Moffatt, Commercial Director, National Procurement Service, Welsh Government, and Mark Roscow, Director of Procurement Services, NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership.

Grahame Steed, Managing Editor of GO and Lead Judge, said of the Awards:

“This truly was a celebration of Wales’ Day of Procurement! From a hugely successful Procurex Wales Live event during the day that saw over 1000 delegates in attendance, right through to this stunning finale that is the very first GO Awards Wales, this has been a spectacular day! Well done to all the Winners and Highly Commended; your success is well deserved and I urge you to go on and represent Wales by entering the National GO Awards 2017/18.”
