GO Procurement Innovation or Initiative of the Year Award

Pressure creates diamonds, and in the demanding world of public procurement the need for new approaches, fresh thinking and brilliantly executed ideas has never been more urgent.

The GO Procurement Innovation or Initiative of the Year Award brings creativity and imagination to the fore, recognising innovative approaches that have delivered tangible benefit to public procurement and the public sector supply chain.

The entry criteria are simple – the innovation or initiative can come from any quarter, and can be of any scale; but it must be a genuine advance within public procurement, and must be compliant with existing procurement legislation.

Deadline for submissions: 27 January 2012

Timescale:

Innovation or initiative must have been active prior to January 2011

Open to:

Public or third sector organisations, and private sector organisations with public sector endorsement

Evidence keywords:

Originality, creativity, measurable benefit, process re-engineering, end-user benefit, significant change

Awards:

One winner, one highly commended (if merited)

  2. What aspects of the innovation or initiative have been particularly imaginative, unique, creative or groundbreaking (while remaining within the bounds of current procurement legislation), and how has this demonstrated a real advance within public procurement?

  4. What were the expected outcomes of the innovation or initiative, and what success has been achieved to date? Please provide evidence of specific targets set and performance or other measurable benefits achieved or expected.
