—————————————————————————————————————————–

“The National GO Awards are the foremost recognition of best practice and innovation within public procurement, recognising the achievements of all parties in the delivery of effective and value for money public services. I urge organisations that have success stories to share to do so by entering these Awards.”

The Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2012/13 recognise and reward excellence and achievement in this multibillion-pound sector and for the past ten years have been the benchmark by which progress in commissioning, procurement and public service delivery has been measured.

Public spending is set to continue as one of the highest profile topics in the minds of politicians, the business community and the public, and as a result public procurement will also receive unprecedented levels of focus and challenge in 2012 and beyond. The GO Awards provide the perfect showcase for the most exciting initiatives and innovations, as well as the inspirational people driving progress and change.

The GO Awards showcase the very best that public sector procurement has to offer as a career, as a market sector and, most importantly, as a means of delivering more efficient and effective public services.

Thank you

Government Opportunities would like to thank everyone who pledged a donation to MacMillan Cancer Support during the National GO Awards ceremony.

A total sum of £1707.58 was raised for the charity as part of a tribute fund set up for Richard Parsons, a distinguished procurement figure who sadly died earlier this year.

Richard was instrumental in the development of GO, providing content, ideas and was a valued member of the GO Awards judging panel.
