BMW drives forward new deal

Thursday July 7th, 2011

New reports state that car manufacturer BMW has extended a services deal for network devices, software and support services with HP that covers its operations globally.

During the five year extension, for which the value has not been disclosed, BMW will receive support for an ‘open standards-based’ network infrastructure that it described as ‘robust and secure.’

BMW will use the HP E5400, E3500 and E6200 technology switches. These are centrally controlled by HP Networking Manager Plus, a Microsoft Windows-based platform for network mapping and configuration.
