GO Collaborative Procurement
Initiative of the Year Award

Deadline for submissions is 26 April 2010

Collaborative procurement is continuing to rise in prominence as pressure on public sector spending intensifies, and demands for smarter, joined-up procurement increase. The GO Collaborative Procurement Initiative of the Year Award recognises the vital role that collaboration will play in the future, and showcases the very best examples of this practice from across the entire public sector. Appreciating the diverse nature of collaborative procurement, this Award has three sub-categories to encourage entries from Health Procurement Hubs, Consortia and other organisations.

  1. Health Hubs
  2. Public Sector Consortia
  3. Other organisations

Timescale:
Initiative must have been active since at least April 2009

Open to:
Public or third sector organisations

Evidence keywords:
Joined-up approach, measurable efficiency gains, compliance, end-user benefit, sustainability, cross-sector procurement

Awards:
One winner per category; highly commended awards (if merited)

Criteria:

  1. Please describe how your organisation has adopted a collaborative approach to its procurement activities, either on an ongoing basis or in respect of a particular initiative.
  2. What aspects of the initiative or approach are particularly innovative, creative and groundbreaking (while remaining within the bounds of procurement legislation)?
  3. What level of engagement has been achieved with parties outside of the  contracting organisation (for example, other organisations, suppliers, the local community or other interested groups)? How have end-users benefited from the collaborative approach taken?
  4. What were the expected outcomes of the collaborative initiative or approach, and what success has been achieved to date? Where possible, please provide evidence of targets set and performance or measurable benefits achieved.
  5. Has your organisation spread the benefit of this initiative or approach to other organisations? If so, how and what results have been achieved?
  6. Please provide any other information that you believe is supportive of this entry.
