Devon County Council is investing £1.3 million to provide state of the art Foundation Stage facilities at Tavistock Primary School.Government Opportunities

The old building will be demolished in January with the project scheduled for completion in time for the new academic year in September. ,The new building will be larger than the current temporary huts and will provide four new classrooms and a shared curriculum space.

In July 2017, Ofsted inspectors rated the provision for children in the early years as good.

The early years was a constant hive of activity with children purposefully ‘buzzing’ around their rich curriculum and well-designed activities, they said.

Local county councillor Debo Sellis said:

“This is fantastic and long awaited news. Tavistock Primary School is always a joy to visit despite the really difficult working conditions in the nursery area.

We have recognised the professionalism, drive, determination and strong caring attitude from parents, governors and the staff. This has been a very long haul and I share the excitement. I am delighted.”
